A Family Home Rooted in the Puglian Countryside

About Us

Villetta Uliveto was created as a place to slow down, reconnect, and experience the quieter side of southern Italy.

Hosted by Juliette and Franco, our home offers guests a peaceful and authentic stay surrounded by olive groves, fruit trees, and generations of family history in the heart of Puglia.

Our Story

Franco’s family has lived in Cisternino and nearby Ceglie Messapica for generations. His mother’s family farmed many of the local olive groves, and the land where Villetta Uliveto now sits was gifted to his mother by her parents as a wedding present. The house itself was built by Franco’s parents (and a very young Franco) with the help of family members — many of whom still live nearby today.

The land remains wonderfully rustic and full of life. Across the property you’ll find olive trees, grapes, lemons, cherries, almonds, chestnuts, pomegranates, prickly pears, and more than fourteen varieties of figs, all of which guests are encouraged to enjoy during their stay. Every October, the olives are still harvested and turned into olive oil, continuing a tradition that has shaped this landscape for generations.

Originally built as a family holiday home, Villetta Uliveto has always been a place for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life in Puglia. We are delighted to now share it with guests looking for a more authentic and peaceful experience of the region.
